Spend an enjoyable morning exploring the beauty of the Vail Valley with your camera. Master Photographer and Colorado Photographer of the Year Dennis Jones will teach you easy techniques and tricks that will immediately improve your photography. You will learn the foundation to better pictures through composition and using your camera and eye to their fullest potential. Dennis will show you how to visualize a scene and how it translates into an image as well as what to look for from the grandest panorama to the tiniest detail. Costs are $50 per person.

While discovering hidden beauties of the valley, you will gain insights into the amazing possibilities digital imaging technology now offers to enhance and manipulate your images. Toward the end of the hike, we will return to the Nature Center where Dennis will show some results of the morning’s shoot and just how easy it is to quickly enhance your images in the computer.

Bring your camera no matter how simple or complex, plenty of memory cards, batteries and, if you have one, a tripod. Comfortable walking shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, trail mix, a hat and a light jacket are also necessary. Be prepared for a wonderful morning seeing Vail in a new light.

Bio
Dennis Jones has been a professional photographer for twenty five years. He began his business in his home town of San Diego where he owned a studio, Light Impressions, for twelve years. He received the degree of Master Photographer from the Professional Photographers of America in 1988, was made a Fellow by the Professional Photographers of California in 1990 and named Colorado Photographer or the Year by the Professional Photographers of Colorado in 2003.

Prior to becoming a photographer, he spent fifteen years in the music business performing with
symphony orchestras, chamber music ensembles and in recording studios. Dennis has lectured on various aspects of photography to many professional photographic organizations. He writes on the topic of creativity for national publication and has spoken extensively on the creative process.

Many of his images have been shown in national and international exhibitions. With his company, Dreamcatcher Imaging, he travels nationally creating architectural, portrait and corporate event
photography for his clients many of whom are Fortune 500 companies.

Dennis currently makes his home in Vail, Colorado
