The Imagination Station, a hands-on children's museum, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Imagination Station is for children ages two to 12 and their families and its new features include a play wall that encourages active play integrating physical and cognitive learning; a light table and builder boards that inspire development and dexterity; a hyperbolic funnel that models planetary motion; and a new Mad Scientist's Lab where children will make slime, "gak" and other messy projects. The marble wall also will be back with a more user-friendly design where children can spend hours revising their marble track. Costs per child are $5 per day, $10 per week, $20 per month or $40 a year. Family memberships are available for $30 per month or $60 per year for unlimited visits. Adults and infants are free.|
Vail’s Imagination Station is conveniently located above the Vail Welcome Center at the southwest end of the LionsHead parking structure. It is accessible via the LionsHead stop on the in-town Vail Village/LionsHead bus. By car, from the main Vail roundabout (I-70 exit 176), take South Frontage Road West to the LionsHead parking structure.

The Vail Gymnastics Center is currently offering two preschool-specific classes for children that are walking through age five.Toddler Bears, for children walking through age 3.5, includes instruction on shape courses and balance and swinging equipment to help children develop and explore. Super Bears, for ages 3.5 to 5 who are promoted from Toddler Bears, is a faster pace class that includes stretching and individual gymnastics instruction. Toddler Bears takes place from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday and Tuesdays and 9:15 to 10 a.m. Wednesday through Friday. Dobson Ice Arena & Town of Vail Public Library
Children can enjoy story hour at the Town of Vail Public Library followed by skating at Dobson Ice Arena at either 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. on Wednesdays. Preschool-aged children will have plenty of activities to keep them busy, get them excited about learning and making new friends. Art for the Young Child meets on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon in the Community Room (in the Welcome Center in the LionsHead parking structure). This drop-in program costs $5. A personalized art or science program can also be created for children ages three and older who are potty trained. The cost is $10 per child, per hour for up to three hours, and requires a reservation 24 hours in advance.
