Children are children wherever they are: they love fun, they love to learn and they love to be with friends, old and new. VRD celebrates resident and visiting youth by providing top-notch facilities, which conduct camps, classes, leagues and events geared toward improvement at a sport, understanding our alpine environment, or just plain having fun. Join the VRD for School's Out Camp Feb. 20-24. Children will enjoy ice skating, science, art, gymnastics, Nordic skiing, sledding, swimming and more! Advanced registration is required. 30 children per day maximum.

After School Programs | Ages 5 to 12 | Information | Registration Form

KidZone meets after school and on designated no-school days. Through sports, gym games, playground play, arts and crafts, group games and homework help, KidZone's staff provides an experience full of imagination and activity. Programs take place at Red Sandstone Elementary School gymnasiums and cafeteria.
VRD Youth Services offers School’s Out Camp during spring, winter and various breaks throughout the school year. Camps take place at Red Sandstone Elementary School gymnasium with drop-off from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. and pick-up from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $46 per student or $36 for Eagle County students. Youth Skating | Information
Dobson Ice Arena offers year-round ice hockey and figure skating classes and camps for ages four and older.

Martial Arts | 970-949-8121 | Information
The Gymnastics Center partners with Master Mathew Bayley and the Vail Academy of Martial Arts to provide martial arts instruction for both children and adults.

Early Childhood Programs | COMING SOON – JANUARY 2012 | Ages 2 to 5 | Information
Imagination Station
Vail's learning and discovery center returns with improved exhibits for children ages two through 12. Children can build their own playhouse, act on stage with their choice of background and play & problem-solve at a variety of activities. Cost will be $5 per child age two and older with cost-saving weekly, monthly and annual memberships. Parents and children under age two will be free. The Imagination Station is conveniently located on the second floor of the new LionsHead Welcome Center and adjacent to free two-hour parking during the winter and free parking all summer long. Doors open mid-January 2012.

Preschool Programs
Preschool-aged children will have plenty of activities to get them indoors and out of the cold throughout the winter beginning in January. Programs include Art for the Young Child, Mommy & Me Yoga and more. VRD staff will offer custom art or science programs for children ages three and older who are potty trained. Cost is $10 per child, per hour for up to three hours.

Summer Day Camps | Registration | 2011 Information
The VRD’s youth summer camps feature hands-on learning about the natural environment, adventure-packed days including rafting and caving, arts and crafts, plus golf, gymnastics, ice skating and more. All camps fill on a first-come, first-served basis and early registration is encouraged.

Summer Sports Camps | Online Registration | Information
Throughout the summer, the VRD hosts an array of youth sports camps including volleyball, lacrosse, golf, ice hockey, soccer, gymnastics, figure skating, baseball and basketball, plus sports training camps. Additionally, during the spring and fall, the VRD manages a youth soccer league for ages four through 13.

Youth Mountain Bike Racing | Ages 8 and Older | Information | Online Registration
The VRD offers children eight and older an opportunity to race in its Youth Mountain Bike Race League. Races take place on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and allow children to race with some of the best racers in the Vail Valley and beyond. Children must bring their own bicycle and wear a helmet.

Skateboard Clinics | Information
Children ages seven to 14 can learn or refine their skateboarding skills at the Vail Skatepark, located on top of the LionsHead parking structure during the summer. Clinics take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Cost is $25 or $20 for Vail residents. Skateboard and helmets required, wrist guards and kneepads recommended.
