2022 Year In Review - Community Programming

The image shows a logo with the text "2022 YEAR IN REVIEW" and initials "VRD" for Vail Recreation District.

In the Community Programming department, we were proud to have functioned at a VERY high level in 2022 while understaffed. During the summer, we had to modify our summer camps to accommodate for lack of staffing (we eliminated Camp Eco Fun and moved counselors to Camp Vail and Pre Kamp Vail). In the Imagination Station, we had approximately 2,000 participants over the year, with 900 participants in just three months of summer alone.

Staffing Changes

We welcomed new staff members this year, give them a warm welcome (see new staff members on the right)!

We were very excited to have Santa's Workshop back in person for the first time since 2019! It was virtual the previous two years, and it was great to have kids back at the Imagination Station to visit with Santa and make crafts. For 2022, we had 74 families participate!
