This is an accessibility statement from Vail Park and Recreation District (“VRD”).

VRD is committed to making its information and communication technologies accessible to all.

Conformance Status

Meeting accessibility standards is an ongoing process and VRD will continue to work toward increasing the accessibility of our site.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. VRD is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Throughout this website, we make use of different third-party websites, which are not controlled by VRD. As part of this commitment, Vail Recreation District has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. Compliance Officer

In addition to testing with users with a wide range of disabilities and coding our website to WCAG standards, Vail Recreation District regularly scans its website to ensure ongoing compliance, and makes timely changes to any inaccessible changes, if any are found.
