The Vail Recreation District Board of Directors, a five-member elected panel, is responsible for setting policies and guiding staff throughout the year. Elections occur every two years in May. Board members must be residents or own real property in Vail. The VRD is a special district and is separate from the Town of Vail.

The current Board of Directors and the year their terms expire are:

John Rediker - 2025
Jason Plante - 2025
Molly Rabin - 2027
Kirk Hansen - 2027

The board meets at 5 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month (second Thursday in November and December due to holidays) at the Vail Town Council Chambers to discuss issues that could impact the VRD and the constituents of the District. Public input is welcome and is always the first item on the agenda. High Five Access Media (formerly Public Access Channel 5) films and airs Vail Recreation District board meetings.
