VRD offers several youth sports programs throughout the year for all ages and abilities. Please click below for more information on specific programs.

Tennis

SUMMER | ALL AGES The Bill Wright Tennis Center offers a slice of heaven, eight Har-Tru clay courts with the Gore Range as a stunning backdrop. Open daily in the summer, the tennis center includes a full-service pro shop that rents rackets and courts, offers private lessons and provides clinics for all ages.

High County Hoops

The program emphasizes skill development and team play through drills and controlled scrimmages.

Pickleball

YEAR ROUND | ALL AGES The Vail Recreation District pickleball program is a year-round program with summer outdoor play at the Golden Peak Pickleball Center, and winter indoor play at Red Sandstone Elementary School. Lessons, drop-in play and summer camps are offered.

Vail Nordic Center

WINTER | ALL AGES When the snow falls, the Vail Nordic Center operates on the Vail Golf Course and has programs for all ages and abilities. During the winter, the Nordic Center offers classic and skate skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.

Youth Futsal

WINTER | GRADES 1-5 Futsal is a Brazilian indoor soccer game that is used as a teaching tool. It develops players' technical and tactical ability by forcing them to maneuver and make decisions in a confined space.

Youth Golf Lessons & Camps

JUNE-AUGUST | AGES 6 AND UP Vail Golf Club offers a variety of golf camps where kids will learn fundamentals and etiquette of the game. Private lessons are also available for youth golfers.

Youth Gymnastics Classes

YEAR ROUND The Vail Gymnastics Center offers Youth Gymnastics programs for toddlers and kids of all ages.

Youth Hockey

FALL AND WINTER | AGES 5 AND OLDER VRD offers Mile High Mites, Mini Mites, Mites and a Girls Only program where youth will learn the fundamentals of ice hockey through fun and educational instruction and enjoy an introduction to competition.

Youth Ice Skating

FALL AND WINTER VRD offers Learn to Skate classes various other skating class through the Skating Club of Vail at Dobson Arena throughout the school year.

Youth Soccer Programs

FALL AND SPRING Recreational soccer is a two-season sport in both the Fall (generally starts right after Labor Day through Mid-October) and Spring (late April thru early June).

Youth T-Ball Program

SPRING | AGES 5-6

Youth Volleyball

WINTER | GRADES 3-6 Kids in grades 3-6 will learn to play volleyball like a pro! Participants will work on FUNdamentals with a lower net and smaller court and focus on footwork and agility.

Zeke M. Pierce Skatepark

SUMMER | ALL AGES The Zeke M. Pierce Skatepark is open every day in the summer, dawn to 11 p.m, weather permitting.
