The Vail Nordic Center had a great 2021-22 season, highlighted by fantastic grooming and course conditions. We continuously recommended the upstairs Grill on the Gore restaurant to our Nordic customers - with the excellent quality of the soup bar and outstanding customer service, it's a great pairing with a jaunt out on the Nordic track! Skiers improved their skills on the track with Next Level skate, classic and AT clinics, and challenged themselves with Town Series Races in Vail and Minturn. Snowshoers and fat bikers continued to take advantage of 10K and 13K of dedicated trails, respectively. Our Nordic Director, Dan Timm, continued to be a great leader to his team while also helping out at many of the winter sports events, including his annual appearance as Santa Claus at the Ugly Sweater Fun Run (Santa also stopped by the Nordic Center).

"This was my first experience with cross country skiing so I decided to take a lesson to avoid breaking anything. The most important aspect of the Nordic Center is how knowledgeable and friendly the staff is. The instructor was patient and kind when correcting my clumsy mistakes, and I felt comfortable trekking out on my own after the class. There are multiple trails for varying skill levels, with spectacular mountain views adding zen to the already serene experience. A must do when visiting Vail." - Mary O., Google Review, March 2022
"I arrived early and was able to sign up for the group class. There were 3 of us and our instructor, Bob, was very helpful and patient. I'm very glad I took the class because I wouldn't have figured it out on my own. The facilities were very nice and everyone that worked there was excellent." - Megan D., Google Review, Jan 2022
"Beautiful trails, we saw multiple ice climbers on the cliffs. Everything was well groomed and maintained. Trails were mostly flat but had a few fun hills to go down (around the challenge course). The lodge was really warm and beautiful and it looked like it had a cool restaurant to hangout at. I'd go again for sure." - Thomas B., Google Review, Feb 2022
