2023 Year in Review - Vail Gymnastics
2023 was a big year for the Vail Gymnastics Center, as we welcomed a new head coach, Sunny Hasebe. Because we were finally able to fill the head coach position, we added a number of new programs including:
- Junior Ninja classes for ages 6-9. This is an obstacle course-based curriculum that incorporates agility, strength and flexibility. Ninjas learn a combination of flips, rolls and jumps in a fun fusion of gymnastics and parkour.
- Level 1 Mini classes for ages 4-6. This is a beginner class used as a stepping stone into our traditional Level 1 class for ages 5-12.
- A new pre-developmental program called Mini Peaks, which is a pre-developmental program designed for the gymnast on an accelerated path to competitive gymnastics.
- A Coed Advanced Recreational class for ages 8 and up. This class is designed for boys and girls who have gone through the basics and are ready for more of a challenge.
- A partnership with Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy to introduce a program tailored for competitive gymnasts in Level 6 or higher. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for athletes who aspire to excel in gymnastics at a high level. For athletes aiming to pursue gymnastics at the NCAA level, this program offers a crucial stepping stone. By prioritizing both morning and evening training sessions, athletes can optimize their training schedules and ensure comprehensive skill development.
