2021 was the first year for this scenic and breathtaking (literally and figuratively) course. The half marathon course is challenging (over 3,000' of elevation gain) and stunningly beautiful, showcasing the incredible network of trails on Beaver Creek Mountain. The 5K is a point-to-point from The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch to Arrowhead (with only 300' of elevation gain) and is a great 5K for all ages and abilities - runners, sloggers, and walkers!
This race is proudly supported by Elevated Dental and the Arrowhead Metro District.
The half marathon starts and finishes at Arrowhead. The 5K is a point-to-point course which starts at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch and finishes at Arrowhead.
Approximately 3,000 feet of elevation gain for the half marathon; approximately 300 feet of elevation gain for the 5K.
There will be three aid stations on-course for the half marathon with water, Skratch electrolyte drink and Skratch energy chews at mile markers 3.3, 6.7 and 10.1.
There are NO aid stations for the 5K.
The Dynafit trail running series is cupless, so please bring your own hydration device for during and after the race.
Racers can pick up their race numbers or preregister on Friday, August 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Peak Performance Footwear, located in the Edwards Riverwalk.
Race day bib pickup and registration takes place in the Berry Creek Middle School parking lot. Racers may park at the middle school and take a VRD shuttle to Arrowhead or The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch; the shuttle will run from 6 to 6:40 a.m. (for the half marathon) and 6 to 7:30 a.m. (for the 5K).
- Dynafit Arrowhead Half Marathon: $50 pre-registration, $58 week-of registration, $70 day-of registration
- 5K Costs: $30 pre-registration, $36 week-of registration, $45 day-of registration
- Student Rates (ages 13-17): $25 pre-registration, $30 week-of registration, $37 day-of registration
All Beaver Creek Summer Solstice Trail Race participants must sign and return the Vail Resorts Release of Liability Form to participate in the Trail Race. To save you time, you can print the form and bring it with you to bib pickup.
Vail Resorts Release Of Liability FormParticipant parking is available at Red Canyon High School and Berry Creek Middle School on Miller Ranch Road in Edwards. Shuttles will be running from Berry Creek Middle School to Arrowhead and to The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch for the 5K start. It is a mellow 1-mile walk from the schools to the base of Arrowhead if folks choose to walk or warm up. Please note that registration and bib pickup is in the Berry Creek Middle School Parking lot.
Awards will be presented at the race finish.
- Half Marathon Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over
- 5K Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females in the following age groups: Juniors 19 and under, Open 20-39, Masters 40-59 and Grandmaster 60+
- In an effort to ensure a variety of participants can enjoy and benefit from our partnership with Dynafit, participants that routinely podium will receive no more than two of the same 1st place prize.
- All racers will receive a custom designed t-shirt (either cotton or tech material) at the race finish, and all racers are entered into a raffle for great prizes from our sponsors!
