Race Info 

The race begins at 8 a.m. at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village, testing runners of all abilities on both singletrack and doubletrack terrain over 4.6 miles of uphill running with an average grade of 14 percent. The race ends at Mid-Vail at the top of Gondola One. 

The Gondola will run from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for spectators to access the finish at Mid-Vail. Northside donuts and race t-shirts will be available at the finish to participants. Awards ceremony and raffle take place at the finish once the majority of participants have finished. 

There will be one aid station on-course near mile marker two. In an effort to reduce our impact, we have gone cupless! Please bring your own hydration system to refill with water or Skratch.

Course Info 

Competitors will ascend Berry Picker Trail and take a sharp left towards the top onto Lower Fireweed and traverse to the east toward Mid-Vail. Competitors will exit Lower Fireweed on to the Mountain Access Road and finish at Mid-Vail.

Aid Stations 

There will be one aid station on course near mile 2.3. In an effort to reduce our impact, we have gone cupless! Please bring your own hydration system to refill with water or Skratch Labs hydration mix.

Pre-Race Bib Pickup Info 

Racers can pick up their race numbers or register ahead of time on Friday, August 2 from 4-6 p.m. at West Vail Liquor Mart in West Vail. Race day pick up takes place from 6:45-7:45 a.m. near the start at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village. 

Race Cost 
  • Individual Rates: $38 preregistration, $45 week-of registration, $55 day-of registration
  • Student Rates (ages 13-17): $25 preregistration, $30 week-of registration, $37 day-of registration

Vail Resorts Release Of Liability Form 

All Beaver Creek Summer Solstice Trail Race participants must sign and return the Vail Resorts Release of Liability Form to participate in the race. To save you time, you can print the form and bring it with you to bib pickup.

Parking 

Racers should park in the Vail Village Parking Structure where parking is free in the summer.

Awards Categories & Prizes 
  • Awards will be presented at the race finish.
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
  • In an effort to ensure a variety of participants can enjoy and benefit from our partnership with Dynafit, participants that routinely podium will receive no more than two of the same 1st place prize. 
  • All racers will receive a custom designed t-shirt (either cotton or tech material) at the race finish, and all racers are entered into a raffle for great prizes from our sponsors!
