2023 Year in Review - Bill Wright Tennis Center

The summer of 2023 summarized, according to Tennis Director Caitlin Collins: "Everyone just seemed very happy to be out playing tennis in such a beautiful place!" We enjoyed a busy tennis season at the Bill Wright Tennis Center with full weekly programming and junior camps.

NEW in 2023, the Bill Wright Tennis Center hosted the first season of the Vail Valley Tennis League. The league was a huge success, and brought tennis back to our locals with a competitive atmosphere, but with more focus on fun and no USTA requirements. With six tennis clubs involved, players got plenty of match time to improve their games as well as develop relationships across clubs!

NEXT GENERATIONS

In 2023, we saw an increase in the number of younger people joining or playing at the Bill Wright Tennis Center.

This increase in youth engagement reflects a growing interest in the sport, driven by various factors such as availability of youth camps and the rising influence of young tennis stars like Coco Gauff and Sebastian Korda.

Social media plays a big role - 2021 U.S. Open winner Emma Raducanu has 2.5 million followers on Instagram.

This is a great sign for the future of the sport, as more young people embrace the game of tennis!
